Sticks & Stones

Brenda is upset because some kids teased her and called her names on her way home from school.  Her friend, Jennifer tries to help her by talking to her and telling her that she knows how it feels when kids tease.  They figure out that it is really good to have friends to talk to about your feelings. Do you ever talk to your friends about your feelings?

Hi!  I'm Brenda....Brenda Dubrowski.  I'm having kind of a hard time lately.  These kids at school keep teasing me and calling me names!  It makes me so sad and so mad too!  My friend Jennifer helped me a lot by talking to me about it, but I would sure like to hear your ideas about what I can do if it happens again.

Do you have ideas about what to do if someone teases me again?  Write to me if you do.  It's good to have friends like you.

Jennifer

Hello.  My name is Jennifer Hauser.  When my friend Brenda was getting teased, I knew just how she felt, because I've been teased too.  I learn differently, and sometimes kids don't understand that I learn in a different way.

How do you feel when someone teases you?
