Rescue and Report

Melody's friend, Brenda was teased on her way home from school.  Mel feels guilty because she wasn't there to help her friend.  Together, Eddy and Mel figure out a way to safely help get a friend out of a bully situation.  There are lots of ways to help a friend.  Can you think of more?

My name is Eddy Franklin and I really liked talking to my friend Mel about bullies.  She helped me figure out how to help a friend who is being bullied by pretending that I was getting bullied and showing me a way to escape.  Even though I was only pretending to be bullied it sure felt good when she helped me get away!  Pretending is a great way to figure out what to do.

Do you think that you could make friends with the bully?

Melody

Hi!  I'm Melody James.  I felt so bad when my friend, Brenda got teased on her way home from school.  I should have been there to walk home with her but I had to go practice for my dance recital so she was alone.  When Eddy saw me he knew I was sad.  We talked about bullying and how sometimes a kid might need an adults help.

Eddie didn't want to tattle but there is a difference between tattling and reporting.  Do you know what the difference is?
