Oh Brother!

Having brothers and sisters is great and sometimes it drives you crazy.  Michael is upset because he did not defend his twin brother Mark during an argument at school.  Michael explains what is making him feel uncomfortable and begins comparing notes with Melody on what it’s like having siblings with or without disabilities.

Hi, I’m Michael Riley and I’m 11 years old.  I love building models and playing outside with my friend Jason.  My brother Mark and I are identical twins even though Mark has CP and I don’t.  We have a little sister too.  Her name is Suzette.  Most of the time, we get along pretty good, but sometimes I wish I could just have my own friends without having to share them with my brother or sister. What do you tell your brother or sister when you feel like that?

Michael

Melody

I'm Melody, and sometimes our house gets really noisy.  See, I have these four older brothers, Kenneth, Shaun, Darryl, Daniel and a younger brother Todd.  They tease me and tickle me, but I love all my brothers just the same.  I’m always looking for new ways that my brothers and I can work out our problems for ourselves even when Daniel embarrassed me right in front of my friend, Brenda.

What would you do if that happened to you?
