Boys and Girls
![]()
Jason has been wondering why his friend Christine has been acting a little different lately. She keeps asking him if her nose is too big and if he thinks she’s “normal”. Jason kind of understands because he thinks he should look older now that he’s 11. He wonders if he’s too short to be a star athlete. They both know that it’s what’s on the INSIDE of a person that matters, but then why do they worry about their outsides too? Do you think that you have to be "perfect-looking", to be perfect?
Christine |
Hi, my name is Christine. I sometimes help out my mom and grandparents at their restaurant The Olive Branch. I have 3 big brothers, 1 big sister, 2 little sisters, a dog-named Zeus- oh, and two cats named Mercury and Hera. They have Greek names because my family is Greek. I try to eat healthy and keep my body strong because when I get older I want to be a super beautiful, super glamorous ballerina. Sometimes I wish I was prettier, like one of those models in the magazines, or I wish for an exciting life traveling the world. Do you ever wish that too? |

Jason |
I'm Jason. My friend Christine and I hang out after school at her family’s restaurant until my Dad picks me up from work. My dad is a reverend and sometimes counsels kids. He says that if a person tries hard to be the best they can be, then the person just keeps getting more likeable, because the way they feel about themselves shines through. How do you shine through?
