FACTS, a Family And Child Training System provides strengths-based family support training for frontline human service workers. Supported in part by a grant from the Corporate Foundation for Children and fees from participants, the strategies taught in FACTS training have been demonstrated to improve the performance of workers across the board. Benefits of the training include:
- New strategies for moving families out of dependency.
- Increased worker effectiveness.
- Increased worker morale and lower worker turnover.
- Increased agency efficiency and productivity
- Measurable improvements in the lives of families receiving services
Financial Literacy Life Skills Training provides free money management and financial literacy training for adults and children in the Madison County area (funded by United Way and the Combined Federal Campaign). A basic understanding of money and how it works is crucial to the ability to develop assets, and is at the very core of healthy families and communities. Individual and group training sessions are provided on banking, saving money and the importance of good credit. Topics such as having adequate insurance, establishing an emergency fund, and saving for retirement are also covered.
