Homelessness Prevention & Rapid Re-Housing Services

Family Services Center's (FSC) Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing (HPRP) and Transitional Housing Programs provide services to assist persons at risk of homelessness to maintain affordable housing and to assist homeless persons who need temporary assistance to obtain permanent, affordable housing.

These services include outreach, case management, financial assistance, housing search & placement, housing & employment counseling, and financial literacy training/counseling, budgeting and credit repair.

Legal services are provided through FSC's partnership with Legal Services Alabama in Huntsville.  FSC coordinates its Homelessness Prevention efforts with fellow members of the North Alabama Coalition for the Homeless (the local Continuum of Care).

Please call 211 to apply for HPRP assistance.  FSC's HPRP Program serves residents of Madison County.

Transitional Housing: FSC's LIFT Housing Program works to prevent families from becoming chronically homeless by providing early intervention, affordable housing and supportive social services.  The program offers low-cost housing for up to 18 months to homeless families with young children.   Please call 256-551-1610 to apply for assistance.

Related FSC initiatives include affordable housing programs, low-income first time homebuyer programs, homeownership training & counseling, job transportation programs, and other supportive services.

Family Services Center is a HUD-Approved Housing Counseling Agency.
