Both Parents Program...
facilitating healthy relationships between
parents and children.
Supervised Visitation & Monitored Exchange
The Both Parents Program is designed for children and their separated or divorced parents who have been involved in an abusive relationship, where conflict has occurred during visitation; or where conflict has prevented visitation from occurring.
This program provides a safe, positive and neutral environment where children and their non-custodial parent can engage in conflict free visitation or exchanges.
Supervised Visitation
Allows children to maintain and/or develop relationships with both of their parents. This is an essential element in the healthy growth, development and stability of children and families. We offer the following:
- One-on-one supervision: A supervisor observes the details of the interaction between parents.
- Therapeutic supervised visitation: The identification and completion of therapeutic goals between parents and children. This service is provided by a licensed mental health professional.
- Supervision of families or sibling groups: Family members visit together in a large room and are monitored by a supervisor.
Monitored Exchange
Supervised transfer at our facilities whereby children are taken from their custodial parent and transferred to their non-custodial parent without the parents having contact with each other.
Who may need these services?
Families who:
- are court ordered to have supervised visits or exchanges
- fear the visiting parent may abduct the children
- have children in foster care due to abuse or neglect
- have a history of domestic violence
- have experienced visitation disruption due to conflict
How may I schedule a visit?
Supervised visits and monitored exchanges are by appointment only. Please call (256) 551-1610 to schedule an appointment.
An orientation must be completed before a visitation or exchange can be scheduled. At the orientation, the Program Coordinator will explain the program and answer any questions. A tour of the visitation facilities will be provided to all client participants.
What is the cost?
The cost for Supervised Visitation and Parenting Plan Development is $20.00 per hour. The cost for Monitored Exchange is $20.00 per total exchange. Charges may be assessed against one or both parents. A fee reduction/waiver is available to clients who qualify.
Many thanks to the Children's Trust Fund of Alabama for funding the Both Parents Program.
