Mortgage payments with fixed interest rate as low as $400 per month.

The Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) is a HUD-funded program authorized by the Housing and Economic Recovery Act (HERA) of 2008.

In partnership with the City of Huntsville's Community Development Department, Family Services Center's (FSC) Neighborhood Stabilization Program acquires and redevelops foreclosed houses in Huntsville that might otherwise become sources of abandonment and blight, in order to stabilize neighborhoods and stem the decline of market value of neighboring homes.  Houses acquired through NSP are rehabilitated and sold to eligible buyers who must live in the homes.

If you are interested in buying an NSP home:

1.  Complete an application for homeownership and submit it to FSC

2.  Make an appointment and meet with an FSC Homeownership Counselor to verify eligibility and learn about program requirements

3.  Attend a free 8-hour Homebuyer Education Class at FSC

4.  Get approved for an affordable (non-predatory) mortgage from a lender of your choice

If you're not sure about how to qualify for a mortgage, we can help.

There is never a charge for our services.
